Woolfest
Woolfest is a celebration of natural fibres, especially all aspects of wool, wool products and wool crafts. It has been organised by members of The Wool Clip cooperative since 2005 and attracts over 4000 visitors and wool enthusiasts each year, as well as over 140 stallholders, farmers and crafts people.
Woolfest 2011 is on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 June at Mitchell's Lakeland Livestock Centre near Cockermouth, Cumbria.
The Cockermouth event is the only one organised by The Wool Clip - we have no connection with any other Woolfests springing up - this is the original and the best!
A grand day out
There is something for everyone at Woolfest, from fleece animals and rare breeds, through fleece, tops, craft equipment and materials, to finished clothing, accessories and unique hand-crafted woollen goods. Stallholders are available to talk to visitors about their animals and their work and many will be demonstrating their skills.

Get involved
There are lots of ways to take part in Woolfest. Bid for a hand-crafted sheep in the fundraising auction, join in a demonstration or the Friday night Spin-in, try out a new skill, bring along a contribution to our celebratory bunting or even volunteer some time to help the organisers.
At Woolfest 2010 we raised nearly £2,000 for Farm Africa, Medecins sans Frontieres and the Air Ambulance.
Woolfest was initially supported by the Cumbria Fells and Dales Leader+ Programme.
