woolfest 2014 - our 10th anniversary!!
Woolfest was founded to provide a showcase and a celebration of the best of wool and wool crafts.
The event is all about creativity and design with beautiful quality, amazing colours and skilled craftsmanship and this was recognised in 2012 when Woolfest won the Cumbria Tourism Award for Event of the Year.
- a showcase of talents
- a wealth of advice
- a bank of knowledge
- a treat for the senses
and a treasure trove of natural fibres
Whatever your wool interests – Woolfest is for you.
We attracted over 5000 visitors in 2014 and the reaction to Woolfest was very simple ... WOW.
Please browse the site and keep in touch – whether you’re planning a visit next year, want to know what’s happened this time and who was at Woolfest 2014 or if you’re a stallholder wanting further information, it should all be here. We have uploaded excerpts from the programme.
We were delighted so many of you contributed to our fleecy animal auction with proceeds going to Allerdale Red Squirrel Group and there was also some great fundraising for the local branch of RBST and for Medecins Sans Frontier's p/hop project. Thank you.
There were a number of great workshops at Higham Hall during Woolfest. Julie Hedges on Ply Splitting and Janet Phillips on Doubleweave Design both had courses overlapping with Woolfest with plenty of time to visit the event and a 2-day ticket included in the price.
Information for Stallholders who wish to apply for Woolfest 2015 will be available here next November.
