Plan your day

If you are planning your first trip to Woolfest, you may want some ideas of what to do and an indication of how things work. Many visitors say that there is too much to see and do in just one day but at least we can help to ensure that you don't miss anything that's important to you.

Arriving - On arrival at Mitchell's Lakeland Livestock Centre by car, you'll be directed to a (free) car parking space. Cockermouth also has good public transport links by bus and Woolfest organises a free shuttle bus between the town centre and the Woolfest venue. Entrance tickets need to be bought on the door and the right money really helps us to keep things moving - there is also a full programme on sale at the door.

Information Desk - Your first destination may well be the Information Desk (clearly indicated on entry) where someone familiar with the venue and the programme can help you with any queries.

Booking ahead - Although entrance tickets are NOT bookable, some of the events during Woolfest do need to be pre-booked. For instance, tickets are required for the Friday evening supper and Spin In.

Skills and demonstrations - There are various opportunities to share or learn new skills. See the full programme for details, timings and locations and some may also be promoted on the demonstrator's stall.

Leaving - Not much to say here apart from the fact that we would very much appreciate your feedback on the event. Your entry ticket (which also allows you back into the venue during the day) includes a few questions. It would be useful if you could please answer these and drop the card into the box as you leave - thank you.

And if there's a member of your party who needs a break from all things woollen or you've combined a visit to Woolfest with a holiday in the Lake District, we've included links to help you explore Cockermouth and plan your trip.
