The Basics

  • Emergencies - First Aid is kindly provided by the local British Red Cross groups and is located near the Information Desk.
  • Chairs - The main seating areas are in the Square with the music and in the Marquee (through the restaurant). We try to ensure that there are also extra seats scattered around the show area.
  • Toilets - Toilets, including those with disabled access, are located near the front entrance and there are also portable event toilets outside the rear entrance.
  • Cash - We have tried to get cash facilities at the venue but this has proved to be impossible so please come prepared. The nearest cash machine is in Cockermouth town centre and there are banks and a post office there too.
  • Payment cards - Many stallholders (and our team on the door) take cheques and some (but certainly not all) stallholders are equipped to take credit card or debit card payments.  This does vary from stall to stall - please check on the day.
  • Dogs - If you have brought a dog, it may come into Woolfest if well-behaved and on a short lead. Please DO NOT leave dogs in cars - it is easy to lose track of time or of the weather outside and dogs can die in hot cars. The police and RSPCA will be called to let them out.
  • Big and bulky bags - There is a Wool Crèche where you can leave your shopping in the Square. It is organised by volunteers in aid of the Air Ambulance. Please ensure you collect your shopping by 4.45pm.
  • Photography - Please ask stallholders before taking photographs and respect signs on stalls which ask you not to take photographs. It is one thing to talk about ideas and inspirations but some of our stallholders have had their ideas "stolen" at events like this.
