Where and when

Woolfest 2012 will be held on Friday 22 June 10am-6pm and Saturday 23 June 10am-5pm at Mitchell's Lakeland Livestock Centre, Cockermouth, Cumbria CA13 0QQ.

Entrance costs £6 per day. No concessions. Accompanied children free

Fundraising

Woolfest offers several opportunities for fundraising and as usual Woolfest 2011 had a number of stalls that raised money for charities as well as a couple of key activities and links during the event. In 2011 we raised almost £1,200 in total.

P/HOP

We were pleased to have P/Hop with us again. P/Hop is a knitting community fundraiser for Medecins Sans Frontiers and they raised an amazing £696 at Woolfest 2011. Thanks to all who donated money in return for knitting patterns (pennies per hours of pleasure).

Wool crèche

Not somewhere to leave your partner or children while you browse but the ideal spot to leave those unwieldy bags of raw fleece while you carry on shopping. The Wool crèche is organised by the Great North Air Ambulance team and all proceeds go to this local emergency service. In 2011 we raised almost £250 for this important charity.

RAVELRY

Ravelry is an online community who had various activities going on at the festival and they raised a brilliant £230 which they donated to the Great North Air Ambulance - thanks to everyone who contributed time or money for this great cause.
