Woolfest 2020 - cancelled

Now planning Woolfest ONLINE 2020
and also
Woolfest 2021 - Friday 25 June and Saturday 26 June 2021

The Original
British Festival of Wool

Woolfest was founded by members of The Wool Clip cooperative to provide a celebration of natural fibres and a showcase for the best of wool and wool crafts. It is all about creativity and design with beautiful quality, amazing colours, skilled craftsmanship and a huge enthusiasm for all things wool related. Woolfest is a great day out and was recognised as the Cumbria Tourism Event of the Year in 2012.

Thank you for finding us and welcome to the Woolfest website.

It was with great regret that we decided to cancel Woolfest 2020. Sadly, coronavirus (Covid-19) has affected so many decisions and plans. We took the difficult decision to cancel for 2020 at the start of the outbreak and have been working on being back up and running for Friday 25 June and Saturday 26 June 2021.

However, recent experiences of online events have encouraged us to see what we can do - hence Woolfest Online 2020, starting at 2pm on Thursday 25 June and running online (using a special Woolfest Online 2020 Facebook Group) until 12 noon on Sunday 28 June.

Over the years, our visitors, volunteers, stallholders and everyone involved have all played an amazing part in creating a unique event. We'd like to invite everyone to take part ONLINE this year and also be reassured that we plan to be back, as good as ever, next year.

Our hope for you all is that you stay safe, stay well, enjoy the ONLINE experience later in June and then that we will all meet again in Cockermouth in June 2021.
